Stephanie, from Intuitive Touch, asked if I wanted to schedule a massage and a body scrub for myself and one of our ECP readers. Of course I was going to take her up on it. The day of my appointment I had never been so happy. I had had the worst headache for days and was hoping the massage was going to help take care of it. I’ve had a few massages in the past and though I enjoyed them thoroughly, it’s the days that I’m achy when I really want to just walk in and fall onto a massage table and get the good ole’ deep tissue rubdown!
Well, Stephanie had a different type of massage planned for me. It’s called Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy™. Picture the room. A comfy massage table in a cozy, relaxing room. Over the table, hanging from the ceiling are poles. Ready? I am going to lay down on the table and Stephanie is going to walk on my back holding onto the poles from the ceiling. What this means is that I’ll be getting an amazing deep tissue barefoot massage!
Within 5 minutes, my headache was gone!
Ashiatsu Therapy applies medium to deep massage strokes by using feet and hands to the tightened muscles. Using the feet to massage the areas, covers a more broad area at one time with deeper and even pressure, and still, provides a relaxing, luxurious massage.
If you’ve ever had or wanted a deep tissue massage, I would strongly recommend having the Ashiatsu Therapy. I know this will be my first choice over the deep tissue and I also know I’ll be scheduling another appointment sooner than later.
Stacey, our ECP reader who won the giveaway, enjoyed the body scrub at Intuitive Touch. She chose the apple cinnamon scrub which Cassie made up fresh with organic products. Stacey described her experience with the apple cinnamon scrub having a faint but delicious scent. The massage table and the eye mask were kept at a comfortable warm temperature. The music was soothing and the almost massaging technique when applying the scrub made her session a serene experience.
A scrub is most definitely different than a massage. A scrub exfoliates and hydrates the skin keeping it smooth and soft. Though it’s good to just go in for a scrub, I did see that the Intuitive Touch pricing offers discounts when you add it to another service. I’d like to do a scrub first and then a massage.
Next time you want to make yourself feel better, treat yourself, or give a gift to someone, I highly recommend going to Intuitive Touch Massage Therapy and Bodywork. They are located in Concord just a stones throw from the highway. It was a little difficult to figure what building it was at first, it’s an older white house made into offices and the parking is in the back of the house. You’ll see the number on the house easy enough and now you’ll know it’s the correct building. The entrance is at the front porch, just head up the stairs and you’re there.
Disclosure: I may have received a free service but all opinions are my own.
