We visited La Quinta Inn & Suites in Springfield, MA during our Six Flags New England getaway. I knew we’d be much too tired to drive home after such a full day. Being that this hotel was a partner to the amusement park, it was only 10 minutes away and was easy to find right off the highway.
We had stayed at La Quintas in the past and appreciated the family friendly price. I was comfortable that this would be a good choice for our trip.
Our check in process was easy and the desk had information of things to do such as the Basketball Hall of Fame and restaurants in the nearby area. The parking lot was adjacent to a Dunkin’ Donuts, but we wouldn’t need it for breakfast as there is free breakfast offered to guests here. There were cereals, danishes, bagels, fresh fruit, a waffle station to make your own waffles and more choices as well. It was busy of course, but we got there near the end of the breakfast and there was still plenty of food.
The lobby was very inviting with comfy chairs, warm colors and an impressive bar area that opened in the early evening. There was complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby available all hours.
Our rooms were large, and again, I love the colors they have throughout the hotel. If traveling with younger kids, there is easily room for a pack and play if you need one. The bathrooms were on the smaller size though, but they were very clean.
Rooms have both a small fridge and a microwave which is always convenient. The beds are the tell tale for a hotel and these beds were dreamy! Everyone said the same thing-very comfy, even the pillows were just right!
When you’re going to a hotel with kids, you know you’ll be hitting the pool. We walked into the pool room and found an extra large indoor pool. A lot of pool rooms are so hot when you walk in, it wasn’t here. Just look at it, you want to jump in too, don’t you.
Outside of the pool area are a couple video games and an air hockey game. Who doesn’t like a good game of air hockey!
We were pleased with our stay here and would definitely go back again next year when we head to Six Flags again. My kids want to add the Basketball Hall of Fame for things to do as well!
The area where the hotel is located is right off the highway, but its surroundings let’s say, are not as classy as the hotel lobby. Getting directions from the staff is recommended because they can lead you into a nicer area for shopping and eating and it’s only a few minutes away if you go in the right direction.
