The Nutri Ninja Auto-IQ has been in good use around our house! Everyone knows that the Ninja is great for making smoothies and we do make many of those during the week, but I wanted to use our Ninja beyond smoothies. So, we started making our own pizza dough again. I used to make pizza dough with our bread maker, but the bread maker is so big and bulky so I wasn’t able to keep it on the counter as I do with the Ninja.
We followed the recipe that came with our Ninja and it came out great. We made more a couple days later and added a crushed garlic clove to the dough…yummers! There really was nothing to it and I didn’t mind the kids making the recipe from beginning to end because when you make the dough, you use the dough hook. I didn’t worry about them having to be careful as I do with the blade when they make their smoothies.
The mixer cup has a comfortable grip handle and also has measurements on it. The lid fits snug and yet has an easy release when you push the release button. The dough mixed automatically with the push of the on button and shut off automatically when the timer hit 30 seconds. The dough was perfect.
Clean up was super easy-always an important point! And again, without having to worry about a blade, I could have the kids clean the mixer.
Without saying, but I’ll say it anyways, homemade pizza is made quite often around here now!
I’ve been making a lot of soups, I almost always have a pot of soup sitting on the stovetop for the kids and their friends. Broccoli Cheddar is one of their favorites. We like our soup a nice creamy consistency. Having the Ninja right at our fingertips, I don’t hesitate to use it for quickly finishing off my soup recipes. Now, you must NOT use the Ninja when your soup is hot or you will most certainly have a kitchen made up of Broccoli Cheddar Soup wallpaper!!!! Yes, I did this once as my son was walking into the house from school. Let’s just add that we wore some of the soup too!
I now scoop most of the broccoli out of the soup, add it to the mixer, then add a few scoops of the broth. In no time it cooled down and I pulsed my ingredients to the desired consistency. Perfect!
I’ll share my recipe with you in just a few moments.
Nutri Ninja Blender Auto-IQ Complete Extraction System is a staple in our house. You’ll love it too!
Here’s our Broccoli Cheddar Soup Recipe that we love:
2 cups half and half
3 cups chicken broth
2 bay leaves
1/4 tsp of nutmeg
4 cups of frozen broccoli
1 large carrot diced
2 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
In a dutch oven or medium pot combine all ingredients except broccoli, carrot and cheese.
Heat on medium heat, uncovered for 25 minutes.
Add the broccoli and carrot, simmer for another 20 minutes or until tender.
Remove bay leaves.
Puree cooled soup in the Ninja.
Return soup to pot and add cheese.
Whisk over medium heat until melted.
If soup is too thick for your liking, add broth or water, 1/2 cup at a time.
